Ex-employer not responding to solicitor

Hi,

I instructed a solicitor and he spoke with them at the end of December, trying to get a settlement agreement of 4 months salary. They were going to consider it and said they would respond the next day. They've since ignored any attempt of correspondence from him.

Is this normal behaviour from a company? Would ignoring the solicitors letters not go against them if it goes to court?
